LNS Visitors: Kyle Bell & Lakota Beatty

We had a fantastic time at Lummi Nation School on April 27th when we had some amazing guests! Kyle Bell and Lakota Beatty joined us for our assembly, and they shared some incredibly heartfelt videos and spoke with our students about the importance of school, culture, and family. Our students were truly inspired by their messages, and we can't thank them enough for their visit. Our hands go up to them \o/

Lakota Beatty is an enrolled member of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma. During her visit she gave a heartfelt presentation, talked with students on the importance of family and education - her short documentary walks us through her personal journey of spiritual healing and wellness by staying connected to her Native identity and using the sport of basketball.

Kyle Bell (Thlopthlocco Creek Tribal Town) is an Emmy award winning Director, Editor and Cinematographer based in Tulsa,OK. Bell is a 2019 Sundance Indigenous Program Alumni, 2020 Tulsa Artist Fellow, and is the Rolex Protégé to cinema legend Spike Lee.
