Dear Trinity Church,

Have you ever wondered what "priest camp" is like? Let me share a little about it.

Every other month, curates from across the Diocese of Texas gather at Camp Allen for continuing education and formation. These trainings help provide a strong foundation for ministry while also allowing us to share stories and learn from one another's experiences in different ministry contexts. This month, we get to travel together and study one of the most exciting topics of all: church finances!

The Gospel this Sunday invites us to be prepared for the coming of Jesus, because he may come at an unexpected hour. In many ways, Curate Camp is one of the ways I try to keep my lamp trimmed and burning. It helps me stay ready to serve faithfully, learn from new experiences, and respond to the unexpected challenges and opportunities that ministry brings.

Curate Camp is just one way I seek to remain prepared for whatever comes our way as a parish and to remember that everything we learn can be used in service to God and God's people. This week, I invite you to reflect on how you stay ready and prepared for Christ. Where in your life might God be calling you to deepen your faith and strengthen your spiritual readiness?

Yours in Christ,

Chase

PLEASE NOTE: Coffee hour (and donuts!) will be in Upper Eaton Hall this week due to the TES Book Fair operating in Lower Eaton Hall. Elevator will be available.
