Lunch Break News Weekly
A Message from Jim Kane
The A.D. Makepeace Company has a long history of supporting our communities, and during this pandemic, we have put extra effort into finding ways we as employees can help.

  • With the American Red Cross, we have brought in much-needed blood donations.
  • As you will see below, our Read and Finance teams have each dedicated a Friday afternoon to distributing food boxes to the needy.
  • We have committed to participating in a promotional effort by Southcoast Health, and you may see us filming by the bogs at Rosebrook Place over the next few weeks.

We're all dealing with different challenges in this difficult time, and I am hopeful that the information provided by our Human Resources folks in this newsletter about taxes, benefits, and other issues has been helpful.

The cranberry harvest, budget season, and other efforts at work begin in about a month. I urge you to continue to exercise caution, but hope that in the remaining weeks of summer, you have an opportunity to enjoy the (appropriately distanced) company of friends and family.

Be well, J
"Farmers to Families" Program in Wareham
Our Read Custom Soils team spent Friday afternoon volunteering at the Gleason Family YMCA for the Farmers to Families program.

Several local organizations partnered this summer to bring this program to the Wareham area which provided weekly boxes of fresh produce to those in need. Those organizations included Gleason Family YMCA, Marion Institute, Sid Wainer & Son, & United Way of Greater New Bedford.

Today, our Finance team is staffing the food distribution effort. Thanks to all who have helped out!
Give Blood
The American Red Cross is still in need of blood. You can donate at the Rosebrook Blood Drive #4 on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Click here to register in advance - you need to do that these days to donate.
