Message from President

Greetings Soroptimists!

What did the hat say to the tie?
You go on ahead, I'll hang around!

Well it's hard to believe that retreat week is upon us. I'm so looking forward to an amazing day all together. We have about 40 members signed up to attend and if you haven't yet reserved a spot, it's not too late! Everyone is welcome even at the last minute and even for just a small portion of the day. Come up for even an hour or two and join us! The views will be worth it, (she says full of optimism on the first clean air day in weeks!). See the Events Committee message for details to everyone who is attending about the day, what to bring and the all-important directions (look for the balloons marking the turn off Cohasset!). Feel free to email me with questions. Remember our cocktail hour bar will be stocked with BYOB and there will be ample non-alcoholic options available for all through the event. The day agenda is as follows:
  • 7:30-8:30 Yoga (optional, the instructor has some mats but if you have your own, bring it)
  • 8:30-9:00 Continental breakfast and coffee
  • 9-10:30 Team building!
  • 10:30-12:00 Bonnie's Session
  • 12:00-1:00 Potluck lunch
  • 1:00-2:00 Becky Robinson/Jody Cornielson, Alzheimer's Association
  • 2:00-3:00 SDR mini-sessions
  • 3:00-4:00 Committee Meetings
  • 4:00-5:00 Surprise Guest Speaker
  • 5:00-Sunset Cocktails/Dinner
SO EXCITED!!

With Gratitude,

Sun Dog Ranch Day Retreat

Retreat is Saturday, August 18.

It begins with Poolside Yoga at 7:30 am. If you are not attending yoga, come for continental breakfast at 8:30 am. The amazing sessions begin at 9:00 am. Pot luck lunch begins at 12:00 noon. Several have already signed up to bring some lunch items:
  • Salad/fruit - Stephanie G., Sandi D., Bev R., Kit O.
  • Chips/dip - Joanne E., Kathy E., Billie A.
  • Dessert - Carolyn D., Julie C., Jackie T., Jeanne N., Cyndi M.
  • Light Appetizers - Kris J., Janet E., Nancy H., Kimm R., Carol B.

There's plenty of refrigerator space. We will also have ice chests with room for the beverages you bring. We highly suggest you bring a refillable, reusable water bottle.

There will be more amazing sessions after lunch and dinner catered by Smokin' Mo's at 5:00 pm. Significant others are invited to attend dinner for an additional $20.

Here is the google map link to get to Sun Dog Ranch from the Chico Airport:

It takes at least 20 minutes to get there from Chico. There is ample parking at a pasture next to the house, but carpooling is not a bad idea.

Other items:

Please bring your own chair. There is a pool; so, bring your swim suit and towel if you want to jump in.

We will see everyone there!
