National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon To Be Held in Person
Community leaders will celebrate philanthropy on November 9
The annual Association of Fundraising Professionals of Southeastern Wisconsin (AFPSEWI) National Philanthropy luncheon is back! After convening virtually last year due to the pandemic, local community leaders will gather in person on Tuesday, November 9 at the Pfister Hotel to celebrate the power and impact of philanthropy.

This year’s theme, Meeting the Moment, pays tribute to the philanthropists, volunteers, organizations, and development professionals who rose to the occasion—in the midst of the pandemic—to make our community a better place for all.
Be Mindful… Be Respectful… Be Aware!
As I researched fundraising topics for this article, a social media post pop-up distracted me.

Access: It Means More than Opening a Door
Invisible barriers might still exist. . .
The challenge which I.D.E.A. sets before us is to discover what those invisible barriers and obstacles are and to remove them. We can begin our process of discovery through education.

And the Pairings Are. . .
AFPSEWI Kicked-Off its Mentor/Mentee Program with a cocktail reception at 600 East Cafe in downtown Milwaukee. Congratulations to our Mentor-Mentee pairings:

Here's What you Missed:
Fundraising Series Wisconsin
"Thanks to AFP for turning Fundraising Day Wisconsin into a series! The sessions covered a range of topics that could be useful to people just starting out in fund development and those of us who have been around a while. I joined a couple of the follow-up conversations and was happy to meet new people in each session. Nice way to pivot, AFP friends!"

"This year's AFP Fundraising Day WI event is the first one I have attended as an AFP member and I have been impressed. It has been a resource-rich event for fundraisers in the Milwaukee and Madison chapters. The workshops have truly covered many of the interest areas that are most on our minds in the fundraising community! Thanks, AFP for being at the forefront of bringing great content to fundraisers in a challenging time."

Honor Your "Partners In Philanthropy"!
Submit Your PIPS by October 25!
Partners in Philanthropy is a unique and free opportunity for each member of AFPSEWI to recognize two donors that have made a difference to your organization and to the greater community. This is a great way to provide recognition and stewardship to those that have helped your organization achieve its mission.

Each AFPSEWI individual member can recognize two Partners in Philanthropy. This opportunity to recognize partners is one of the benefits of being an AFP member, whether you are able to attend our National Philanthropy Day event or not. Partners will be recognized: in the program, listed in the presentation, posted on our website, and acknowledged in various ways through event media coverage.
