Message from the Director
We miss your presence here in the library, and we hope you are staying safe and healthy during this challenging time. We have joined the effort to prioritize safety, and understand the discomfort that comes with the unprecedented levels of disruption.
We plan to keep you informed as much as possible with updates on our
and through messages like this one. We will also concentrate on providing the best service that we can to you.
As you know, presently the library building is closed to the public until April 7th. The staff is available by phone and email between 9am and 5pm Monday through Thursday, and on Saturdays between 9am and 2pm. We are currently asking you to hold onto library materials that you have borrowed. We have locked the book return slots and adjusted due dates. All Lunenburg items have been updated with a due date of April 8th, so they will not be late nor will they be accruing fines.
The staff and I are working on creating and delivering virtual programs to fill the gap while you cannot visit the library. We plan to share these programs, including a virtual storytime for families, on
and through YouTube (coming soon). We will also suggest new online services and resources that we think might interest you through Facebook and our messages here.
If you haven’t tried it yet, digital books and audiobooks are available through Overdrive and Libby. You can get started
We are already expending additional funds to provide additional access to titles in Overdrive for Lunenburg residents, and the CWMARS network will be adding material soon, as well. Instructions on how to download Libby will be available on our Facebook page soon.
We will be thinking of you, and looking forward to when we have successfully weathered this situation. Let us know what else we can do to help.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, you can see the answers to Some Frequently Asked Questions
and staff can still be reached by phone or email.
Thank you for your patience,
Muir Haman, Director
