Donations Impact Lives
The importance of the Lutheran SeniorLife Foundation cannot be stressed enough, as the generosity from donors does so much to impact our communities in countless ways. Last year, Lutheran SeniorLife employees and volunteers assisted over 14,000 people with help from those donations. Here are some of the ways they helped people live more abundant lives:

LIFE Programs
• Delivered 8,000 meals and made over 32,000 health and wellness visits.

Lutheran Service Society
• Provided fitness and other programs, social activities and meals to 5,600 older adults at the Prime Time Senior Center in Bellevue, PA and the Center at the Mall in Beaver, PA.
• Delivered 28,000 meals through the Meals on Wheels program.
• Assisted with 208 adoptions

Passavant Community and St. John Community
• Served as home to over 700 seniors and provided more than $7 million in benevolent and uncompensated care to people who exhausted their financial assets or couldn’t afford required care.

Visiting Nurses Association, Home Health and Hospice
• Administered 800 COVID-19 vaccines, provided home health and hospice services to 3,604 patients, and made over 76,500 in-home health and hospice visits

SilverSmart
• Served over 300 people with assistive technology devices that helped seniors live in a safe environment and connected them to their family.

Implemented CarePredict, a new resident system that includes emergency alerts to staff with precise location of residents and two-way communication as well as awareness to potential health issues.

Please help us continue to serve those in need. Change a life.

The Best of LIFE
Eating ice cream, playing games and interacting with your favorite llama are only a few activities the participants of the LIFE programs enjoyed this summer.

The LIFE Centers of Armstrong, Beaver, Butler and Lawrence counties are dedicated to helping older adults remain in their homes and community. Thanks to the many wonderful LIFE staff, participants are living their best Abundant Life!

Wishes Come True for Passavant Residents
Three residents of Passavant Community had their wishes come true thanks to the generosity of Twilight Wish – Butler County PA Chapter.

Twilight Wish is a foundation that grants wishes made by seniors in the community with a mission to “Honor and enrich the lives of deserving seniors through intergenerational Twilight Wish Celebrations.”

Summertime Fun at The Commons
Residents of The Commons of Stonebrook Village recently celebrated summer with an old fashioned picnic – food, games and fun in the sun!

Doug Smith, manager of residential communities, worked with the dining team to prepare a menu of hamburgers and hot dogs along with a few recipes of his mom’s to make the day extra special.

Dessert included angel food cake with strawberries, as well as brownies and Shirley’s homemade cookies!

Residents also participated in fun games and activities such as, corn hole and ring toss.

The Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) is hosting a “Butterfly Release” at 1:30 pm, Sunday, September 18 at the Big Butler Fairgrounds.

This uplifting ceremony is a unique and touching way to honor or remember a lost loved one. A butterfly often represents comfort, hope and positivity. The memorial service will feature music, poems and the reading of the names for those honored.

The event will benefit the VNA Home Health and Hospice programs.

To learn more or to order a butterfly, call 724-431-3372 or email [email protected] with your contact information. The VNA will provide butterflies for a donation of $25 for the first butterfly, and $20 for additional butterflies. Deadline to order is Friday, September 9.
