Inde pendents’ Day UK is a national campaign to support and promote independent retail businesses across the UK all year round.

On 4th July - ‘Independents’ Day’ itself - consumers will be urged to support independent retailers in their local communities and online.

Luton BID will be running a social media campaign to support independent businesses in early July. Please let us know if you would like one of our Ambassadors to visit your shop to take photographs and possibly a short film to be shared across our social media channels.

All Luton town centre businesses are invited to attend our free of charge Luton BID Linked event on Thursday 21st June, 8.30am - 10.30am at Tokko Youth Centre, Gordon Street, Luton.

The event, 'Making the most of your BID', will include a presentation from our PR Consultant, Pilkington Communications, who will talk about the various promotional opportunities, communications channels and other PR activities open to BID businesses.

The second of our award-winning Tidy Mornings of 2018 will take place on Friday, 29th June, 8.30am -10.30am. Join the BID and other businesses to help us clean-up Luton town centre.

If you cannot make the event, we ask that you clean around your building so we can come and take pictures to promote your efforts.

Our BID-funded hanging baskets, flower displays and window boxes are back and already becoming a talking point with members of the public and on social media - people love them.

The BID has funded 16 three tier planters, 51 hanging baskets and 15 barrier baskets in Luton town centre on George Street, Market Hill, Bute Street, Church Street, Mill Street and outside the train station.

Imagine Luton will return to Luton town centre on 23-24 June to bring the streets to life once again with spectacular outdoor performances.

With all kinds of interactive theatre, dance, circus and music experiences - this year's festival will have a circus theme, a Big Top tent and a host of incredible acts including Strong Lady Productions and breathtaking acrobatics with Mimbre, The Exploded Circus .

There will also be a bar serving beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks and crisps/snacks as well as a popcorn machine and candyfloss  around The Exploded Circus showtimes.

Luton BID will once again be supporting the event financially, with promotional support and on the event days.
