Success at Luton Live

Our latest Luton Live event lit up St George's Square this weekend with the local gospel choir, Luton Lighthouse Choir and street dance troupe, Konnections.

A two-piece belly dancing duo and a singer-songwriter were the other acts to perform.

You can see photographs from the event on our Facebook page   HERE.

Help us clean the town centre

All Luton town centre businesses are invited to take part in our second Tidy Day of 2017.

The two-hour clean-up will take place on Friday 30th June as part of our wider street cleaning programme to improve the appearance and overall feel of the town centre.

Over 25 volunteers from local shops and businesses got involved in the last Luton BID Tidy, collecting 21 bags of litter during the clean-up.

Luton Borough Council will be supporting the event by providing an operative to pick up sharp objects where necessary and collect the waste at the end of the event.

Glutton machine update

The stats are in and 150 giant refuse sacks which amount to nearly 36,000 litres of hard-to-reach litter, was collected by the BID-funded glutton machine between January and May this year -   7,920 litres of that rubbish was collected in May alone.

The vacuuming machine was purchased at the end of last year as part of our commitment to provide additional cleaning services to the town centre.

The machine, which has been loaned to and is operated by the council while the BID continues to fund the maintenance costs.
