Business Support Grant update – how the BID can help you

Have you made a business support grant application but still not heard anything?

If you are a levy paying business, have made an application more than 10 working days ago and have not received any funds the BID can support you by getting an update from Luton Borough Council on your behalf.

Email the BID at info@lutonbid.org with the following information: 

• Business Name
• Contact Name
• Contact Number
• Full business postal address including postcode
• Date of application
• COVID grant reference number received on submission

The BID will contact Luton Borough Council on your behalf to get a status update on your application, we will then reply individually to those BID businesses requesting this support. Please note that grant applications are currently taking around two weeks to process and pay.
Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

The Government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme went live - 10 days ahead of schedule, with businesses able to claim up to £2,500 a month towards staff wages.

Employers can apply for direct cash grants through HMRC’s new online portal - with the money expected to land in their bank accounts within six working days.

Future Fund

The Future Fund will provide government loans to UK-based companies ranging from £125,000 to £5 million, subject to at least equal match funding from private investors.

These convertible loans may be a suitable option for businesses that rely on equity investment and are unable to access the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme.

The scheme will be delivered in partnership with the British Business Bank.

Billion pound support package for innovative firms hit by Coronavirus

UK businesses driving innovation and development will be helped through the Coronavirus outbreak with a £1.25 billion government support package.

The package includes a £500 million investment fund for high-growth companies impacted by the crisis, made up of funding from government and the private sector.

SMEs focusing on research and development will also benefit from £750 million of grants and loans.
