Luton Town Centre Business of the Year Award announcement

Town centre businesses have scooped top awards at this year's Bedfordshire Business Awards - a high profile ceremony designed to celebrate business success and innovation across the county.

Luton BID sponsored the Luton Town Centre of the Year category, with The Mall's resident Vibe Juice Bar being crowned overall winner on the night.

The runners up were youth-led charity Tokko and Flame Nightclub.The other Luton town centre winner was Clearhead, a film making company based in The Hat Factory which scooped Best Place to Work in Bedfordshire.

Our next Luton BID networking event will be held at Tokko Youth Space in Gordon Street on 24th November, 8.30-10.30am. The event will focus on effective recruitment and apprenticeships.
 
Hear from Professor Helen Bailey, Executive Dean of Academic Partnerships at the University of Bedfordshire and Luke Huntley, Associate Director of Blue Arrow who will be speaking at the event.

The event will also include a focus on apprenticeships. All Luton town centre businesses are invited to attend this free of charge event.  To register please email us by clicking  HERE .

Tidy Day

Our Tidy Days have been a huge success, with scores of volunteers from town centre businesses taking part to help tidy up the town centre.
 
The next Tidy Day is on Friday 25th November, 8-10am. This time w e will concentrate on the area around St George's Square and George Street to help get the town centre ready for 'Lighting Up Luton' - the Christmas lights switch-on the following day.

Lighting Up Luton

It will be an extra special Christmas for local families this year, with Chase & Marshall from PAW Patrol making personal appearances at the town centre's festive lights switch-on - St George's Square, Saturday, 26th November.
 
The BID has organised the heroic pups' appearance at the event which is run by Luton Borough Council.
 
The canine duo are set to be based in a gazebo on George Street and will be making their appearances at intervals between 2.30pm and 7pm, entertaining families in the lead-up to the official switch-on at 6pm.

The annual lantern parade is also back, led by Park Town Children's Centre. Find out about this and more events on our website HERE.

Black Friday

The annual retail shopping bonanza, Black Friday, is taking place on 25th November.
