This week can announce that the BID is funding two projects - a new radio scheme and a street worker for Luton town centre.
BID funds street worker

Luton BID has awarded NOAH Enterprises £20,000 to continue funding a street worker whose role it is to support people on Luton centre's streets into the community and employment.

Luton charity NOAH, thanks to Luton BID's support, aims - in the months leading up to this Christmas - to help 45 people who are street drinking out of the town centre, support 15 homeless people into accommodation and help nine people into an alcohol treatment programme.

You can read the full story on our BID website HERE.

BID subsidies new digital radio scheme - don't miss out

A new digital business crime prevention radio scheme will be launched on the 1st November 2016 and to encourage sign ups the BID is offering a significant subsidy.

Luton BID is fully aware that crime doesn't stop at 5pm and start again at 8am. Some businesses operate day and night, so this new scheme will enable businesses to share intelligence and boost safety and security.

This radio scheme is for day and nighttime businesses. It will be managed by LBAC.

Find out all about costs, deadlines and how to claim your subsidy HERE.
Calling health, beauty and body art businesses

We are now planning an exclusive directory to promote health, beauty and body art businesses based in Luton town centre. This will be produced for distribution in early November. To make sure you are included email you business name, address, telephone number and what you do to info@lutonbid.org.

We are also planning a two page feature for the Luton on Sunday newspaper which will showcase these businesses. This will be published on the 30th October and to be included please send 100 words and a picture to promotion@lutonbid.org by this Friday, 7th October.

Businesses love linking up

It was great to see so many businesses at last week's Luton BID Linked, our first networking event of 2016.

People who attended told us they would value a regularly networking event for Luton town centre businesses, so these events will now take place every other month, with the next one scheduled for Thursday, 24th November from 8.30am to 10am.

Speakers will focus on recruitment and apprenticeships. To book your place (please note the venue is to be confirmed) email  info@lutonbid.org.
We are Christmas planning

Our Christmas planning has started and one of the many things we are doing is creating a glossy and colour events flyer - to promote events and festive activities lined up this year for Luton town centre.

If you are planning an event please make sure you get in touch, with information, booking details and a photo. Please contact our BID Manager Fergus by emailing info@lutonbid.org.
Professional services in the spotlight

A range of accountants, creative companies, solicitors, financial experts and property businesses are featured in a two page feature published in this month's regional Business2Business magazine.

All professional services based in the BID area were invited to take part in our spotlight feature. If you missed out but want to be involved in future publicity campaigns - all free of charge - please email us at promotion@lutonbid.org.
