Neutering dogma
When should you neuter your dog?
Most of us have lived by the “neutering dogma” that suggests spaying and neutering should be performed by age 6 months, and in females, certainly before the first heat.
While this is still the rule of thumb for rescue organizations whose goal is to control the homeless pet population, recent research is offering some interesting statistics that provide canine aficionados with some food for thought.

Breed of the month: BORDER COLLIE
Runt lives and plays at Red Barn Kennels.
Border collies are among the top three most intellgent breeds and are known to be workaholics. And beware - If they don't have a job, they'll find one!

Did you also know that:
  • Border collies are named for the border region of England and Scotland?
  • Border collies were bred for their speed and stamina?
  • Their "intense eye" allows them to intimidate and control livestock?

Upcoming group classes
Group classes will be starting after Labor Day at Red Barn Kennels.

Luvk9s will be offering:
  • Basic obedience
  • Agility (level I and II)
  • Combo class (different activity each week)

Luvk9s will also be offering private lessons in Big Canoe on Tuesday afternoons.
