Parent Teacher Conferences - Thank You! – Parents and families, thank you for your partnership in last week's parent teacher conferences. We appreciate you making your child’s conferences a priority in your personal schedule. Over 2300 conferences were scheduled this year! Your children are a blessing to us, and we look forward to communicating with you further throughout the school year. If you have any questions or comments about conferences, the conference scheduling system, or school communications, please contact your building principal.
Thanksgiving Food Drive has started and we need your help!  Students from grades K-12 are asked to bring non-perishable food (and other items suggested below) which will be donated to Project Hope, our local food bank The number of families in need in our community has greatly increased in recent years, and the LC Food Drive contributes significantly to their inventory. Students will meet in cross-grade level "Family Groups" on Tuesday, November 26 to sort, stack and load all the food donations, so the food must be brought to school by the morning of Tuesday, November 26.  You are encouraged to make this a family project and involve your children in the food choices for their donations.

To be as helpful as we can to Project Hope, we ask you to consider the following :
  1. Press the orange button below to view the Project Hope shopping list of most needed items.
  2. Financial donations are also very helpful.
  3. 14 – 16 oz. cans (unless otherwise noted) are easiest to store and distribute, please no large bulk items.
  4. Project Hope cannot distribute baby food.
  5. Please avoid glass containers as they are more difficult to handle.
  6. Not needed this year: canned vegetables, dried beans, pasta and tomato sauce.
  7. We could use some additional adult help on “sorting day,” so if you would like to help out, contact an 8th Grade Servant-Leadership Student, 8th Grade Teacher Dave Tjoelker (dtjoelker@lyncs.org), or MS Counselor Tammelyn Boersma (tboersma@lyncs.org). We’d love to see you there!
Thank you for all your generous support!

Elementary School (K-4)
Wanted: Juice Lids! - The second graders are in need of juice lids for a colonial holiday project. If you use juice concentrate, please save the round metal lids! Please drop them off at the elementary office or send them with your child to be delivered to a second grade teacher. Thank you!

Capes for K-4 Christmas Program (Friday, December 20) - Students will be wearing white capes with red bows. The bows will be provided; however, each child is asked to bring a cape made of a square of white cloth. Students in grades K-2 generally wear a 20 inch cape, while grades 3-4 generally wear 30 inch capes. The capes should be slit from one corner to the center with a circle cut out of the middle for the neck. The material does not need to be hemmed, but should not unravel. Please have your child bring the cape to school on or before Monday, December 9. White material was donated to the school, and we are looking for a volunteer who would be willing to make capes for us to have on-hand. We always need extras!   Please call the office (360-318-9525, option 1) if you can help, or if you have questions.

Box Tops – November collection is underway! We are thankful for all the ways this program benefits our school, for the parents who diligently collect and send points in all year long and for the wonderful volunteers who cut out and count all those hundreds of tiny squares each month! Don’t forget about the new Box Tops mobile App, where you can collect digital Box Tops (or send your receipts to school, and we’ll do that for you). Thanks again for your participation!

Scholastic Book Fair UPDATE – The Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success thanks to the excitement generated by all the students, parents, teachers and staff! A special THANK YOU to all the wonderful volunteers who helped organize and run the fair throughout the week. We earned $7373.49 to buy new books for our elementary library! What a blessing this will be to our current and future students!
