Just two weeks left to register for the
Egg Bowl Tuition Toss
Registration ends at 11:45 pm on Tuesday, November 13 for the Egg Bowl Tuition Toss. If you are a student currently enrolled at one of Mississippi’s great public, four-year colleges or universities and you’re planning to be at the Egg Bowl on November 22, you don’t want to miss this opportunity to win a $2,529 MACS scholarship.

Two contestants will face off to see who can toss more footballs – up to 30 - through our targets in just 30 seconds. We will give away a $2,529 MACS scholarship to our lucky winner and a $529 MACS scholarship to our runner-up. With the average tuition for two full-time semesters at Mississippi’s public, four-year schools over $7,000, these scholarships can make a real difference.

Entry forms and full rules are available by clicking here . Contestants and alternates will be chosen at random. Echo and I hope to see you on the field at halftime at the Egg Bowl!
More great visits across the State
It’s been a busy couple of weeks, crisscrossing the State, with meetings on the Coast, Hattiesburg, Laurel, Madison, Oxford, and Tupelo; but I just love the opportunity to speak with so many of our local community leaders.

One of the particular highlights of the past two weeks was the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce’s Salute to the Military. What an incredible evening, celebrating the brave men and women who serve in our Armed Forces today as well as our veterans. Following that evening, I went to Secretary Hosemann’s “Vote in Honor of a Soldier” page and dedicated my vote this year to one of those veterans, Charlie Jenkins from the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, and all the men and women like him who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms. If you would like to dedicate your vote on November 6 to a veteran or service member in your life, click here
Our unclaimed property team is staying busy
Just last week, our unclaimed property team was out visiting with citizens in Rankin and Simpson Counties to help them find their unclaimed property and start the claims process for getting it back. Thanks to their hard work and the support of local leaders, like Representative Price Wallace who invited us to participate in Magee Crazy Day this past Saturday, we have distributed over $90 million just since I took office in January 2012. That’s over 56% of all the unclaimed property distributed since the State started its program in 1982.

Coming up, they’ll be at Florence Day on Saturday, November 10. You can always check my website to see if you have any unclaimed property waiting for you. But, if you’re out at Florence Day, make sure to stop by and see our team, too!
