We had another outstanding year of artwork for our Sixth Annual College Savings Mississippi Art Contest. Our judges – Herbert Mays, professional portrait artist; Ricky Nobile, cartoonist and caricaturist; Charlotte Smelser, Arts Education Director for the Mississippi Arts Commission; and Limeul Eubanks of the Mississippi Department of Education’s Arts and World Languages, Secondary Education division – had a tough time choosing from among the over 1,200 submissions.
This year’s teacher winner is Amanda Bonner, art teacher at Hayes Cooper Center, who submitted 115 student entries! Our student winners are:

We will host an awards ceremony for these young artists and their families on March 26
at the Mississippi Museum of Art. And, then these winning submissions will be framed and hung at the Office of the State Treasurer in the Woolfolk Building in Jackson.
