Coffee and College Savings This Thursday
We’ll be at Broad Street Baking Company and Café in Jackson this Thursday, April 4 serving up free coffee and information about how you can save for your child’s education using College Savings Mississippi. You can come speak with me and our College Savings representatives to get more information about MACS and MPACT … and even open an account. Plus, Echo will be there so you can bring the kids by for a photo while you learn how to make their dreams come true!

Remember, both the Mississippi Affordable College Savings (MACS) and Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition (MPACT) programs offer tax advantages that allow you to stretch your savings dollar even further. MPACT gives you the opportunity to essentially freeze the cost of tuition in time. MACS helps you pay not only for tuition, but qualified room and board expenses, books, and laptops and technology. You can even use MACS to help pay K12 tuition at private and religious schools.

Busy All Over Mississippi
We have had a busy couple of weeks, meeting with people on the Coast, North Mississippi, and the Jackson Metro Area. I would like to thank the Board for the Mississippi District of the United Pentecostal Church, the Harrison County Republican Club, the Mississippi Pawnbrokers Association, and the Mississippi Rural Water Association for the opportunity to speak to your organizations. And, I would like to thank the Mississippi Bankers Association Women in Banking and Ole Miss Law Alumni Association for the chance to visit with you, too.

I also had the opportunity to visit two great Mississippi spots that I encourage you to visit, as well. The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies in Gulfport is a wonderful place to learn more about the natural life with which we share the beautiful Gulf Coast. And, if you are an outdoor enthusiast, you need to visit the brand new McIvor Shooting Facility in Sardis. It is absolutely state-of-the-art and a wonderful way to share in Mississippi’s rich outdoors traditions.

Today, I am giving the luncheon address at the Stennis Center’s Southern Women in Public Service leadership conference. What a great line-up the Stennis Center has planned for us.
Art Contest Awards Ceremony
We had such a wonderful visit with our young artists at the College Savings Mississippi Art Contest Awards Ceremony last week. It is such a joy to see their pride in their outstanding artwork and an even greater joy to know that their families are saving to help them achieve all their dreams. Here are a few more pictures of our winners. We will be posting a full album from the reception on my Facebook page soon. If you are not following me there, yet, please do. And, don’t forget I’m on Instagram (lynnfitchtreasurer) and Twitter (@lynnfitch), too!
