How to Avoid Office Syndrome:
STATIC POSTURE
: The body can only tolerate staying in one position for 20 minutes. Change positions frequently. Just move. Stand or sit, stretch, or take a short walk.
SCREEN HEIGHT
: Sit in your office chair close both eyes and relax. Slowly reopen them. Where the gaze initially focuses is the place to put the center of the computer screen.
MODIFY POSTURE
: Many people sit towards the front of their chair. The best posture is to sit back in the chair and utilize the lumbar support to keep the head and neck upright.
ADJUST THE SEAT
: Your work surface should be elbow high. A fist should be able to pass easily between the calf ad the front of the seat edge. If needed use a footrest to raise the knees level with the hips. The backrest of the chair should push the lower back forward slightly.
PAIN FREE POSTURE
: Monitor roughly arms length away, back straight, elbows close to body, minimal bend at wrists, front of seat not pressing on back of knees, feet flat on ground.
