Over the last 34 years, Lyons Companies has built a client-first reputation, based on a consultative process to meet our clients’ needs. We are Delaware’s largest independent risk management and insurance brokerage firm. Our success is due to having invested in the expertise and intellectual capital of in-house risk control, claims management, workers’ compensation, employee benefits, alternative risk financing and human capital management professionals. This is our brand.
While the death of my husband, company founder, David F. Lyons, Sr., was unexpected; he left this growing organization with strong leadership and a plan for succession firmly in place.
Today I announce my role as president and CEO. I am more than comfortable in this position, and will carry on the family legacy, maintaining high customer service standards and implementing innovative strategies. I have been intricately involved with the business from day one, having been a part of every major decision made. We have been very selective in building a premier organization, one employee at a time. The cumulative effect of our collective efforts is a business with a strong foundation, poised for growth.
Our business plans for leadership transition and succession began when our sons, Dave, Jr. and Tim, began working with us eight years ago. David was encouraged by their ability and acumen, saying if they weren’t the people they are, he would have sold the business long ago.
