City of Moorpark Kicks Off Comprehensive General Plan Update
The City of Moorpark is excited to announce the kickoff of its public engagement initiative, aimed at collecting meaningful community input that will be used to inform the General Plan Update. With the launch of the project website (
), the first community survey, and an interactive online quiz, the City of Moorpark is embarking on the critical first steps in updating its General Plan – the community’s roadmap for the future.
The primary goal of updating the General Plan is to ensure that it reflects the values of the existing community, identifies the community’s vision for the future, and provides a plan to achieve that vision. The General Plan Update will include robust community engagement ranging from online engagement activities to surveys and in-person interactive workshops. Visioning exercises will focus on identifying community attributes, values, and assets that will be used to guide the development of alternatives for how Moorpark will look and grow in the future. The community’s vision will help inform needs related to housing, recreation, transportation, economic development, environment, public safety, and more. The public is encouraged to engage early and throughout the process to ensure the updated Plan reflects substantive community input. To begin engaging, members of the public can:
- See how well you can identify Moorpark landmarks in this fun photo game!
- Take this survey to tell us about your perceptions of life in Moorpark, including City landmarks, services, amenities, and programs. You will have the opportunity to upload photos of your favorite places and to share inspiration from great places outside of Moorpark.
- Apply to be a member of the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC). GPAC members will represent multiple interests of the community and will provide input and guidance throughout the planning process.
- Sign up to stay updated on future opportunities to engage!
