City of Moorpark
Check Out the City's New Economic Development and Marketing Brochure

First off, thank you to all of the Moorpark businesses that responded to our call for photography to include in the City's first-ever Economic Development and Marketing Brochure. Your help made our effort a success and will help promote both your business and Moorpark as a whole!

There are many ways to view and share the brochure, and we encourage our businesses, brokers, realtors, and residents to use it to help put our best face forward. Check out the brochure at:

We also have a limited number of brochures available at City Hall. If you would like a few copies for your front counters and coffee tables, simply reply to this E-mail or contact us at EconomicDevelopment@moorparkca.gov.

City staff is already using the brochure to attract new businesses, potential broadband providers, and potential new vendors to Moorpark. We encourage you to do the same!

Small Business Administration Releases Details for Restaurant Grants

Funded with $28.6 billion as part of the federal American Rescue Plan, the SBA's Restaurant Revitalization Fund will provide grant funding to help restaurants, bars, caterers, wineries, food trucks, bars, breweries, and wineries recoup their pandemic-related revenue losses. Grants will be up to $5 million per physical location.

Although the SBA isn't yet accepting applications for the grants, they have just released details about who can apply, how much money you can receive, how to apply, when to apply, how funds can be used, and how to get help with your application.

We will share as soon as we hear the application is available, but we recommend you sign up for E-mail updates if you are interested so you get information as quickly as possible.

VC Misses Yellow Tier Mark, Remains in Orange Tier for at Least Two More Weeks

Under current rules (that are subject to change by state health officials), a county must record fewer than 2.0 new COVID-19 cases per 100K population for two consecutive weeks to advance to the yellow tier. In today's weekly state report, which tallies new case rates for last week, Ventura County missed the mark and therefore will be in the orange tier for at least the next two weeks. Thus, the earliest possible timeline to advance to yellow tier is an announcement on May 4, to be effective on May 5. The past month's new case rates are shown below for reference:

  • Mar. 23: 6.9 unadjusted, 5.0 adjusted
  • Mar. 30: 5.5 unadjusted, 3.9 adjusted
  • Apr. 6: 5.0 unadjusted, 3.9 adjusted
  • Apr. 13: 3.9 unadjusted, 2.8 adjusted
  • Apr. 20: 3.4 unadjusted, 2.6 adjusted

State health officials will continue publishing weekly statistics every Tuesday afternoon at covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy/. You can also search on the website by business type to see if a business type is currently allowed to open or not in our orange tier (need to select Ventura County).
