Thanks to all who made our bishop’s visit a wonderfully joyful event. Congratulations to Pam and Iain on their confirmation. And welcome to the many visitors and new friends who joined in worship this past week.
We are going to start a kiddies corner that will hopefully allow young children to enjoy the service while staying occupied with things other than yours truly droning on about esoteric theological matters. If you would like to volunteer on occasion to oversee this effort, please let myself or senior warden Paul know.
We have contracted with Pueo Audio to install a new audio system and streaming for our services. This effort has been fully funded by a generous donation from an anonymous giver. Hopefully we will begin to see changes in the very near future once the equipment arrives from the continent. Because we will start streaming in a more professional way if any of you have concerns about your privacy, or wish not to be shown on the streaming video, kindly let me know and we will make every effort to see that that occurs.
Please remember to pray for those whose names you drew from the prayer calabash. Next week we will put the names back in the hat, and select new names so that we can pray for a new friend for the month of March.
The Tuesday healing service and Bible study at 10 AM is very well attended. I encourage any of you who wish to engage in an informal Eucharist with anointing of healing oil, followed by a not very long deep dive into the coming weeks gospel lesson, to stop by and give it a try. Way too many of us stopped our Christian education around the third grade when we were able to escape from Sunday school! This is a good way to engage in adult education that also takes a look at contemporary realities in the light of scripture.
Thank you all once again for so warmly welcoming Kerry and I to your family here at Emmanuel. We are so delighted to be with you all. A hui hou!
