M2SYS Technology has received Frost and Sullivan's 2011 North
American New Product Innovation Award for Hybrid Biometric Platform™ the first scalable, multi-modal biometrics system that supports fingerprint, finger vein, palm vein, and iris recognition all from a single server. Software developers can integrate into Hybrid Biometric Platform™ once and immediately utilize any of these biometric modalities to ensure customers are not locked into a single biometric technology or device that may not work reliably for their end users.
The M2SYS team worked extremely hard at developing a flexible and nimble multi-modal biometric platform that enables software developers and end users to tailor their deployment models based on their unique needs, easily switching between four biometric engines after a single integration. The goal was to ensure near 100% read rates for any user, under any condition, resulting in the lowest total cost of ownership compared to other options in the market. We succeeded.

Palm Vein Biometric Deployments are on the Rise
Ever since we entered into a partnership with Fujitsu Frontech North America last year to begin offering their Palmsecure biometric authentication system with our Hybrid Biometric Platform recognition engine, interest is growing from our end users about using this modality for identification. Unlike other forms of biometric technology that can produce inconsistent results due to skin damage, environmental conditions, age, ethnicity, or other factors, the Fujitsu PalmSecure technology uses a near-infrared light to scan beneath the skin's surface to capture a user's unique palm vein pattern, resulting in extremely low occurrences of both false positive and false negative readings despite dry, rough, or generally poor skin conditions. This advanced, contactless authentication technology offers an easy-to-use, hygienic and non-intrusive solution that generates fast identity verifications.
Recently, Cal Poly Pomona University made the switch from using fingerprint biometric technology to palm vein, alleviating some of the difficulties they faced with wear and tear on their readers due to constant contact with the sensor in a high throughput environment. Cal Poly Pomona uses Hybrid Biometric Platform with Kronos time and attendance software for employee time and attendance.
