Meet Jaden!

Madison Adoption Associates has been asked to advocate for Jaden, who is currently living in Florida in licensed foster care and waiting for his forever family.

Jaden is a 9 year old boy with cerebral palsy. He has a small build with brown hair and brown eyes. He likes activities and games that light up and make noise! Jaden expresses himself through touching, smiling, and making noises. Jaden is content playing by himself, but also enjoys attention. He likes animals. His favorite foods are ravioli, yogurt, fruit loops, applesauce, and oatmeal. He is such a happy child and is always smiling. Jaden is very affectionate and so sweet!

If you are interested in receiving more information about Jaden, please contact Amanda Frost who is an adoption recruiter with Youth and Family Alternatives in Citrus County, FL.

Adoptee-led groups, especially groups started by adult international and transracially adoptees, have burgeoned since the 1990s in the United States, with virtual groups and social media spaces growing over the past decade. Some of these adoptee organizations developed the first formal mentorship programs for adopted youth. while others formed international networks. This workshop will provide a brief overview of the history of adoptee-led groups and spaces, and provide preliminary findings from the national study, Mapping the life course of Adoption Project (MAP), to discuss the importance of adoptees’ connections with others who share the same lived experience on well-being.

Presented by Hollee A. McGinnis, MSW, Ph.D., Assistant Professor

There is a $15 charge per registrant after the first 600 registrants have used the discount code.

Self-Care.

An activity we do to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health. Self-care is not something we force ourselves to do, or something we don't enjoy doing. Self-care is something that refuels us rather than takes from us.
