MAAF CARES Arts Organization Relief Grants Available!
Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (MAAF), with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, has announced the  CARES Arts Organization Relief Grants program  in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Small to mid sized non-profit arts organizations in MAAF’s partner states, jurisdictions, and territories (DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, USVI, VA, and WV) may apply through a competitive process for one-time, non-matching grants of up to $20,000.  Please refer to the  guidelines  for additional information on program eligibility. MAAF is committed to the equitable distribution of grants across our region. Funds are limited and MAAF seeks to make awards that will impact a broad constituency.

NOTE: Organizations who have applied to the Virginia Commission for the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, Virginia Humanities or other CARES Act grant programs ARE ELIGIBLE to apply.
Support includes:

  • Salary for one or more positions that are critical to an organization’s artistic mission
  • Fees for artists and/or contractual personnel
  • Facilities costs such as rent and utilities
If awarded, grants are set for fixed amounts determined by the size of the applicant organization. Organizations with operating budgets between:

  • $50,000 and $250,000 will be awarded at $5,000
  • $250,001 and $1,000,000 will be awarded at $10,000
  • $1,000,001 and $3,000,000 will be awarded at $20,000
The application deadline is Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 12pm EST (noon).  We are anticipating a high demand for the program. We will accept 400 applications and close the portal on or before June 16, whichever comes first.  Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
