The Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) presented its most prestigious engineering award during the Great Lakes Media Show on March 4 at the Lansing Center. The Carl E. Lee Broadcast Engineering Excellence Award was presented to Upper Peninsula Radio Engineer Coral Howe and Frank Maynard, Supervisor of Technical Operations for WKBD-TV and WWJ-TV in Detroit. Michigan: April 1 Pre-Filing Announcements Reminder

Licensees of full-power AM and FM stations and FM translators in Michigan will be filing their license renewal applications with the FCC by June 1, 2020. Starting on April 1, 2020 these stations must run the first of four required pre-filing announcements, announcing to the public that they will be filing their license renewal application. Read More

Legal Sports Betting Expected To Go Live on Wednesday
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) announced Friday (3/6) that Detroit's three casinos will likely be allowed to offer sports gambling beginning at 1 p.m.Wednesday, March 11.  The Board is anticipated to give final approval on Tuesday after presentations by the three Detroit commercial casinos at its public meeting at Cadillac Place in Detroit. MAB Foundation Announces 2020 High School & College 'Station of the Year' Awards

The Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation (MABF) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2020 Student Station/Program of the Year Awards. This year's 584 Student Broadcast Award entries were judged by professional broadcasters across Michigan and presented across 40 categories. Read More

MAB Foundation Awards $27,500 in Scholarships 
to Michigan Student Broadcasters
The Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation (MABF) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2020 Scholarship Program. Recipients were identified by the faculty representatives from each school, or by the sponsoring station, and ratified by the MAB Foundation Board of Directors. Scholarships were presented during the Great Lakes Media Show on March 4 at the Lansing Center. The MAB Foundation awarded $27,500 in scholarships this year. Read More

The MAB Foundation Board of Directors approved a new partnership with Central Michigan University's School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts for the Fall 2020 semester.
The partnership will focus on developing mentoring relationships between students with an Electronic Media Sales Minor and industry professionals.
