MIOSHA Changing State Rules for Federal Regulations
The Snyder administration is rescinding state rules in favor of making reference to the federal regulations when it comes to the Michigan Occupational Health and Safety Administration (MIOSHA). The agency submitted 27 rules packages over the past few weeks that rescind various state rules in favor of the reference notation. Read More

On December 12, the FCC will officially launch its latest 'quadrennial' review of broadcast ownership rules. Read More

NAB Requests Ownership Expansion in December FCC Vote
According to a report in Inside Radio, the next FCC open meeting on December 12 is scheduled to bring its Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to a vote seeking public recommendations on a variety of rules, including local radio ownership. Read More

WJR's Tom O'Brien to Retire
Cumulus Media has announced that
Vice President/Market Manager Tom O'Brien will retire at year-end after a brilliant 40-year career as a Detroit radio fixture. O'Brien joined WJR-AM( Detroit) in 2004 as Director of Sales and was promoted to Vice President/Market Manager for Cumulus' three-station cluster in 2011. Read More

Fred Jacobs Inducted to Radio Hall of Fame
On November 15, Jacobs Media Strategies Founder/President Fred Jacobs was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame at ceremonies in New York City. His inclusion recognizes his contributions to radio broadcasting over more than three decades. Fred is the first radio consultant to ever be inducted. Read More

Entercom Launches Podcast Hosted by WXYT's Mike Valenti
Entercom has announced the launch of the "Always Aggravated" podcast hosted by WXYT-FM (Detroit) sports broadcaster Mike Valenti. New podcasts will be posted weekly to Radio.com.  Read More

45 North Media Takes Over WMTE
On November 12, 45 North Media has begun operating Mitten Media's WMTE-FM  (Manistee), flipping the station's format to Classic Hits as "Eagle 101.5."  Read More

WLEN Hosts 13th Annual 'Thank a Vet' Day
On November 9, WLEN-FM (Adrian) hosted it's 13th Annual "Thank a Vet Day." This day is in celebration of Veterans Day and is an event to raise funds and awareness for homeless and other veterans in need in Lenawee County.  Read More


Follow-Up: WION's 'Treasures for Troops' Sends 260 Boxes to Deployed Soldiers
In it's fifth year of the annual event, WION-AM's (Ionia) "Treasures for Troops" has provided Michigan Chapter #188 of the Blue Star Mothers with enough collections for more packages to go overseas than any other year since the drive began!   Read More


WLUC, WDBC, WYKX Team Up For Annual Can-a-thon
WLUC-TV (Marquette) teamed up with WDBC-AM/WYKX-FM (Escanaba) for their annual Can-a-thon drive. Collections took place at four locations in the Gladstone and Escanaba areas. Read More


WCZY/WMMI Fill
a Mayflower in
Mt. Pleasant
Latitude Media's WCZY-FM/WMMI-AM/FM (Mt. Pleasant) filled a Mayflower moving van November 16, raising over 4,800 non-perishable food items and close to a record $8,000 in donations, surpassing what the station raised in 2017.   Read More


WSGW Collects Food For Families 
Newsradio 790 WSGW-AM (Saginaw) has concluded its annual Food For Families Campaign. The station worked with 20 sponsor locations to collect food over four weeks this fall to benefit the Salvation Army Chapters in Saginaw, Bay and Midland Counties.  Read More


WDVD's Blaine Fowler Morning Show Hosts Radiothon For Detroit Dog Rescue
On November 16, WDVD-FM (Detroit) and its Blaine Fowler Morning Show hosted a 13-hour radiothon to raise money for Detroit Dog Rescue, a no-kill shelter and adoption center for abandoned, abused or orphaned dogs.  Read More
