Webinar on July 9 will walk local officials through filing process for new COVID funds
A July 9 webinar hosted by the Michigan Department of Treasury will brief county officials on the details of filing for reimbursement of public health and public safety spending via funds included in
Senate Bill 690
, which Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed today.
Counties and other local units have only until July 17, 2020, to file background information to quality for reimbursements, so participation in this webinar is strongly encouraged by MAC.
Topics will include updates, guidance and instructions on CARES Act Funding for Local governments, including water utility assistance, first responders hazard pay premiums, and public safety and public health payroll expenditures. Each webinar is limited to 1,000 attendees. With previous webinars reaching capacity limits, participants are strongly encouraged to register early.
The state Treasury Department
has developed a website
with numbered letters, communications and resources regarding COVID-19 information for local governments and school districts. This website was created to ensure that Michigan communities have access to the most up-to-date guidance and will be updated frequently with information and resources as they become available.
