Members, our chamber has worked with the Effective Leadership Academy (“ELA”) to create a “Chamber LEAD” program for high school students in the area. It has been very successful in positively impacting the students from Mayfield and Gilmour to develop leadership skills, confidence, and opportunities to use their gifts to help others in a positive and rewarding manner. ELA is a non-profit organization relying on grants and fundraisers to assist in its mission to allow students find and develop the best attributes within themselves. MACC will be assisting in ELA’s annual fundraiser and we respectfully ask you to review the attached opportunities to assist in this endeavor. It will also be a fun and engaging afternoon. Please click on the following link, ELA Sponsorship, or go to ELA’s website at www.effectivela.org for more information. Thank you for your generosity and assistance!

The Hard Facts About Phishing Attacks
5 Ways to Stay Vigilant and Protect Your Information
Nearly everyone has been targeted by a phishing email at some point in time. Defined as the act of using messages, links, and appeals to trick or defraud a computer user by posing as a legitimate company, phishing most commonly occurs when a cybercriminal pretends to be someone or something they’re not to try and steal something valuable.
The most common form of phishing occurs when hackers “spoof” an email address, creating a fake account with the domain yourcornpany.com—which, at first glance, appears to be just like yourcompany.com. Sometimes, phishers will include links to fake websites, legitimate-looking Word documents, PDF invoices, or delivery notifications to try and deliver a ransomware infection.
