Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society Collaboration

Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society
Last month,
Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society  (MACS) announced that they are making significant changes to their operating procedures to save more lives and better fulfill their mission of helping homeless, abused, and neglected animals of Detroit.

The shelter management has been working with a support committee of animal welfare professionals who had offered assistance, guidance and advice. This committee, which has also been involved in the successful turnaround at Detroit Animal Care and Control, includes:

· Deborah Schutt, Michigan Pet Fund Alliance
· Courtney Protz-Sanders, Mi-PACA and Paws for Life Rescue
· Jen Clarkson and Beth Pruitt, Dog Aide
· Jim Freemon, C.H.A.I.N.E.D, Inc.

"We are changing directions, making progress and collaborating with others," said Debrah Thurman, Shelter Director at MACS. "We ask for your patience. We ask for your support. Together, we can make a difference."
