This year, Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) and Montessori Public Policy Initiative (MPPI) will be collaborating to bring you the 6th Annual Symposium for Montessori Teacher Educators on December 1-2, 2017 in Alexandria, VA.
This event draws Montessori teacher educators from around the world and is an opportunity for program directors, faculty, heads of schools, and national organizations to discuss topics relevant to Montessori teacher education. This year's Symposium will focus on:

MACTE On-Site Verifier Training Webinar

Interested in becoming a MACTE on-site verifier for MACTE on-site verification visits? Already a verifier looking to update your knowledge of the on-site verification visit process? The MACTE On-Site Verifier training webinar is for Montessori credentialed individuals who are interested in participating as verifiers on upcoming on-site verification visits for programs going through the MACTE accreditation process. Please join us for a webinar training.

Self-Study Writing Workshop Webinar

The Self-Study Writing Workshop is for Montessori teacher education programs that are ready to begin working on their Self-Study document. This webinar will focus on accreditation requirements and specific compilation guidelines through MACTE's Accreditation Management Portal.

Elementary II Course Level Hours
|
|
Elementary II (9 through 12 years)
Completion of the Elementary II level requires a minimum of 800 total clock hours with the following division of those hours:
- Academic Clock Hours: a minimum of 200 academic clock hours
- Practicum: 400 clock hours. 120 hours of those clock hours must include student teaching in the EL II environment.
- Additional Clock Hours: a minimum of 200 additional clock hours. A minimum of 100 of the 200 clock hours must address an overview of the EL I academic content, which must include one or more of the following: independent research, material-making, album preparation, additional student teaching hours, or additional academic contact hours.
