To Realize Bold Solutions That Dramatically Improve The Success Of Youth In The Mobile Area

Our Pillars

Every child in Mobile County deserves to receive an excellent education.

For Mobile to truly thrive in the future, its young people must be ready for employment in the thousands of high-wage, high-demand jobs in our region.

To effectively address the challenges facing our youth, our schools need the support and engagement of our entire community.

Excellent Schools: Full-Service Community Schools Health Fair

The Mobile Area Community School Taskforce (MACST) Community Schools Coordinators at ACCEL hosted a Health Fair on Monday, June 24, 2024, in collaboration with MAEFPCS ACCEL Academy’s registration for the 2024-2025 school year. The Health Fair's success was made with the assistance of the following partnering agencies:

  • Franklin Primary Health Center
  • Big Brother/Big Sisters of Mobile
  • Lifelines Counseling
  • Genesis Counseling and Consulting Services
  • Mercy Life of Alabama
  • Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Marketplace
  • Gulf Coast Nurse Family Partnership
  • Ambitiously Him and Her King Foundation
  • Victory Health Partners
  • Mobile County Health Department

These partners provided blood pressure, glucose, height, and weight screenings, vision screenings, and immunizations. They also provided school supplies for five (5) gift baskets that were given away as door prizes to the families that attended. The parents and families who attended were very appreciative of the information they received.

In addition to the screenings and wellness care, our MACST Health Clinic partner, Franklin Primary Health Clinic (FPHC), had 75 parents complete consent forms for their students. This consent allows students to receive school-based health services throughout the school year, which are provided by the FPHC Mobile Unit.

MAEF and the Mobile Area Community Taskforce are grateful for all the partnering agencies coming and sharing with our parents and the community about the healthcare resources available in Mobile and the surrounding community. We look forward to working with these partners in the upcoming school year as MAEF and the Mobile Area Community Taskforce strive to enlighten the faculty, staff, students, and parents of ACCEL Academy about the various community resources that are available to them.
