Cranbrook Welcomes New Dean
Amy Green Deines, Associate AIA, IIDA, has been named Dean of Cranbrook Academy of Art.  Her term began on July 1, 2016. In the past Dean Deines has served as Associate Dean at Lawrence Tech and has held academic positions at Detroit Mercy, School of Architecture.  Dean Deines also currently serves on the AIA Michigan and AIA Detroit boards.  In June she was the recipient of AIA Michigan's Associate Member award. Congratulations to Dean Deines!

Design Retreat 2016
Save the Date: the Annual Design Retreat 2016 is fast approaching! Join AIA Michigan at Camp Hayo-Went-Ha on September 23-25. Network and discuss with other like minded professionals about the challenges the architectural field is currently facing.  Learn about how many are addressing these design issues.  Also open to interns, students and non-AIA members.

Association Of Architecture Organizations

Did you know that the Michigan Architectural Foundation is a member of the Association of Architecture Organizations (AAO)? The AAO is a member-based network that connects the many organizations around the world dedicated to enhancing public dialogue about architecture and design. Founded in 2009, AAO currently serves nonprofit architectural organizations and interested individuals in 75 cities across the United States and 10 countries. Members include architecture centers, design professionals, architecture and design schools, educators, historic preservation trusts, design advocacy and urban planning organizations, and museums with architecture collections. Taken collectively, AAO Member organizations conduct public programs that reach an estimated annual audience of 4.5 million children and adult learners.
