"Managing Pain"

MAFP Member Resources for Managing Chronic Pain & Controlled Substance Prescribing

The recent closure of a pain clinic in southern Maine brings two things to mind:

1. Family Physicians are well-positioned to work with patients who have complex problems like chronic pain (and there are many such patients in need of a good Family Physician), and

2. Continue to follow Controlled Substance prescribing best practices by following communications from the AAFP, other medical societies and licensing boards.
