The Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) recently finished scanning their entire Boston headquarters’ plans collection consisting of 101,617 scans of architecture, engineering, forestry management, and land plans! During this webinar, Sam Sharp will discuss how DCR is in the process of building a custom database that is expected to be up and running by the end of 2025.

Join the MALSCE Public Awareness Committee
The MALSCE Public Awareness Committee is charged with promoting the general recognition and acceptance of the practice of land surveying and survey engineering and stimulating a greater interest in public perceptions affecting the profession. Committee chair David Prince, PLS, from WSP, has been holding regular meetings and committee members are visiting schools to promote a career in land surveying to secondary school students.

NSPS Scholarship Applications are Now Available
Each year, through the National Society of Professional Surveyors Foundation (NSPSF), over $35,000 in scholarships funded by a variety of individuals, companies and organizations are made available to encourage and support college education in geospatial sciences. These scholarships are a great opportunity for college students in surveying, mapping, geographic information systems and geodetic science programs.
