Help us make sure the 2025 MALSCE Plan & Field Notes Contests are as successful as the 2024 contests! Don’t wait, submit a plan and/or field notes for judging during the 2025 MALSCE Convention, which is being held Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Boxboro Regency Hotel & Conference Center. Final Reminder to Renew Your MALSCE Membership
The MALSCE Board of Directors would like to thank all MALSCE members who have paid their fiscal year 2025 dues since receiving their renewal invoices. Your timely payment helps ensure that MALSCE has the financial support it needs to sustain its operations. Prompt payment of your dues also ensures that you continue to receive the numerous benefits that MALSCE has to offer through June 30, 2025.
If you have not yet paid your FY25 MALSCE dues, please be aware that third and final dues invoices were emailed in mid-October. The deadline for paying your dues is November 29. Non-renewing MALSCE members will be made inactive in early January. If you have not paid your FY25 dues and would like to receive another copy of your MALSCE dues invoice, contact Michelle Monette at 617-305-4113 or mmonette@engineers.org.

There is still time to become a 2024-2025 MALSCE Sustaining Member. The enrollment period for this popular program is ongoing. Promote your organization to over 400 MALSCE members and demonstrate your support of the land surveying profession by becoming a MALSCE Sustaining Member today! For a prorated fee of $413, your organization can become a Sustaining Member for the rest of the 2025 MALSCE fiscal year as well as the FY26 Sustaining Member renewal period which lasts until fall 2025.

Join the MALSCE Public Awareness Committee
The MALSCE Public Awareness Committee is charged with promoting the general recognition and acceptance of the practice of land surveying and survey engineering and stimulating a greater interest in public perceptions affecting the profession. Committee chair David Prince, PLS, from WSP, has been holding regular meetings and committee members are visiting schools to promote a career in land surveying to secondary school students.

MALSCE Education Trust Accepting
2025 Scholarship Applications
The MALSCE Education Trust was founded to enhance the profession of land surveying and civil engineering in Massachusetts by providing scholarship and educational grants for land surveying and civil engineering students who are Massachusetts residents. Now through November 29, the Trust is accepting applications for its Surveying Certificate Program Scholarship, Memorial Scholarship, and 2025 UMaine Scholarship.

The MALSCE Education Trust is a 501(c) (3) organization that invests in students and educators for the future of the land surveying and civil engineering professions. Current initiatives include the annual MALSCE Education Trust scholarships for students of land surveying and civil engineering who are Massachusetts residents and ongoing support for the University of Maine Surveying program. PLSS Foundation Unveils New Website, PDH Courses
The Public Land Survey System Foundation, created through a partnership between the Bureau of Land Management and NSPS, has made available (for a fee) three initial professional development courses, including Accretions, Avulsions and Relictions in the Public Land Survey System. The courses, previously available only to Certified Federal Surveyors (CFedS), are now available to anyone that wishes to further their understanding of water boundaries within the PLSS.
