Our gradual, careful reopening has begun!

After many weeks of providing services only virtually and by phone, our first program started accepting children back into the classroom for onsite mental health services on May 26.

While maintaining safety, we are implementing protocols and creating a new environment for children to learn, heal and enjoy our beautiful surroundings. The smiles on the children’s faces and on the staff’s faces (behind their masks) tell us that this step towards a more normal day is worth the extra effort.
Our opening will be gradual, as we follow licensing rules and guidance from the State of Oregon. We will maintain additional protocols as long as necessary, and adapt them as more staff work on site and more clients join them.
 
Our gradual opening is also happening in the community, as we modify home visits to be held outside of families' homes when possible, with social distancing protocols in place.

It sounds tiring to make all these changes – and it certainly is. The reward, however, is in being able to increase the support we provide and having more flexibility doing so.
