MMM is dedicated to promoting an understanding and appreciation of Maine’s maritime heritage and culture. Their Discovery Boatbuilding Program is a community favorite with eighth grade students hand-constructing traditional skiffs throughout the school year with help from museum volunteers, culminating with a launch celebration.
