SUFU is run by and for adults who live with developmental disabilities, helping them take control of their lives, and use their voices to “Speak Up” for issues that are important to them and all people with disabilities. Pictured above is longtime SUFU member and self-advocate, Maryanne, who was recently surprised with a chauffeured limousine ride from her home in Augusta up to Caribou to attend SUFU’s annual conference.

National Council of Nonprofits Warns Nonprofits to Get Prepared

Voter Engagement in Rural And Small Towns
|
While you may not be thinking about elections right now, it’s actually the perfect time to start planning your organization’s election engagement for this year and beyond. Large urban areas often get the most attention--and resources--when it comes to GOTV efforts. Here in Maine we're very familiar with and proud of the power of small and rural communities! Using creativity, empathy, and strong community ties, nonprofit staff in these areas are turning the tide on low turnout and offering voter education that empowers the people they serve to make their voices heard.
NonprofitVote is hosting a free webinar tomorrow, March 22nd, on Voter Engagement in Rural and Small Towns with pointers and a panel discussion.
-
RSVP to receive the webinar recording and slides automatically. This webinar will have Live Captioning and if you need other accommodations to access the webinar, please email info@nonprofitvote.org.
- Plus, NonprofitVote offers 23 Ideas to Engage Voters in 2023!
