Snow What Happened in Februrary?

This past month has gone by incredibly quickly and I don't think anyone will complain about zooming into Spring a little early this year. Sorry for saying Zoom. We have seen many changes here at the PFAFF in just a short 28- day period but as always we roll with the changes and keep churning out the fun.

February, still in STEAM mode, we saw the first project week of our newest teacher Destiny! She kicked things off by making Fraction slime with the kids which was a great combination of science and math principles, concocted some delicious ice cream in a bag, and even helped the kids to design their own Tarot Cards! It was a fantastic debut and we only expect more exciting projects and activities from Destiny in the future.

Kurt was next and he inspired the kids to try their hand engineering vehicles with electric motors.

Last month also saw the return of a much beloved part of MAP - CLUBS! Nicole offered our first Friday Mini Club, teaching the kids all about Mardi Gras and the fun festivities and traditions surrounding it. She and the kids decorated plungers and even got a taste of some real King Cake straight from The Big Easy.

Sadly, this month also saw the departure of Maddie who has been a teacher with us at the PFAFF for the past 4 years. She was a wonderful teacher whom the kids loved and looked up to. She brought so much to our program and the lives of our students. We will miss her talent, creativity, and humor and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.

For March we have adopted a "Cycle" theme and Eric got us started by Re-Cycling old CD's and DVD's that we had here at MAP into some sparkly Wind Spinners, beautiful birds, and super spinning tops. Stay tuned for more Cycle-themed projects coming your way.

February Vacation Was Fury and Fun!

So thrilled for those who were able to join us. We had a mobile gaming truck called, Ultimate Mobile Gaming, stop at our site for some cozy video gaming fun on Thursday. Wednesday, we travelled over to Memorial MAP to experience Barn Babies' cute little animals before heading up to town for lunch and pottery painting outside of Park St. Book with 70* temperatures. Tuesday, again thru Ultimate Mobile Gaming, we had the great experience of laser tag that was set up in the Dale gym.

The week was also filled with homemade designer pancakes, mini donuts and pancakes. Wednesday was also perfect for a Wheels Day. The kids enjoyed riding their bikes, scooters and rollerblades. We even broke out the MAP go-kart!
