October Project/Activity Themes:
It’s spooky season here at MAP, as it is in many places! Maddie started us off on the right foot creating magic wands and mouse ears for her Disney themed project week. We then put our own twist on OctoberFest during an early release day with building German-styled mini houses and making Harry Potter inspired
Butterbeer
. We continued our festivities with Kurt, creating “bone powder”spooky glass jars, carving pumpkins, and playing candy corn bingo. The kids enjoyed creating woodland critters out of bark and pinecones with Desiree, our newest MAP teacher. They were also able to give back a little early this year with Leah’s
Random Gift
week, making dog treats and weaving bracelets for friends and family. Towards the end of October, the kids were able to tap into the mysterious with Tom by experimenting with “evil science” creating magnetic slime and creating nuclear rockets out of paper. Great fun and amazing projects.

Maddie continued her Video Game club on Mondays with several projects, including potions from Fortnite and Minecraft Rice Krispies. Leah continued her Breakfast club on Tuesdays making delicious pumpkin-spice chocolate chip muffins and fruit kabobs. Katelyn's Nailed It! Club made more tricky food creations like cupcake burgers and a “goblin stew”. Eric's Modeling Club had the kids work on putting the pieces of their model together while paying attention to intricate detail. A shout out to the
Haunted Forest Club kids
for putting on an amazing haunted gym for the K-1 Mapsters. It is always an amazing feeling watching the older MAPster return to their old stomping grounds and interact with the younger kids.
