FUTURE MAR OFFICERS: 

The MAR Nominating Committee meets in June to recommend potential candidates for future Maine Association of REALTORS® officer positions (President-Elect and First Vice President). If you are interested in learning more and presenting your qualifications to the committee for consideration, please email Suzanne before June 2 for copies of the candidate information questionnaire and outlines of officer responsibilities. CALLS FOR ACTION – BE WATCHING!

As we continue to advocate for private property rights and housing supply at the Maine State House, we will need your help!  The legislative session is winding down and many important bills will be voted on in the Maine Senate and House of Representatives over the next few weeks. Topics yet to be voted on  include an increase in the real estate transfer tax, restrictions on mobile home park owners including a moratorium that overrides and interferes with existing purchase contracts and a mandated right of first refusal, and local option taxation based on property use.

We are closely monitoring the timing and will call upon our members for help. Please watch for Call for Action alerts from MAR via email and social media requesting you reach out to your Legislators when prompted.

On June 3 and 4, we have appointments to meet with Senator Susan Collins, Senator Angus King, Representative Chellie Pingree, and Representative Jared Golden on Capitol Hill. Maine REALTOR® Magazine is mailed to your office address unless you update your Communication Preference in the Maine Association of REALTORS® membership database.

To update your “Communication Preference”:

1)   Login to the Maine Association of REALTORS® RAMCO portal link

2)   Help info is on the top and side of the portal sign-in screen.

3)   Click on the “Update Your Member Profile” in the blue box (upper left)

4)   Note the five sections on the left to update (Main, Home Address, Mailing Address, Personal, Communication Preferences)

• 5)   Update your information in each section and be sure to click on Save at the bottom of each section.
