Message From President John Mahon
Season’s Greetings to All,

As the holidays rapidly approach, I especially want to take this time to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season and New Year!!

Plans are well underway for our Annual Conference May 3-6 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. MARC representatives have been working with our host and partner NJNAHRO to offer an informative, dynamic and educational experience. Tentative plans call for several plenary sessions including HUD officials, sessions for commissioners and staff alike, some hands on maintenance training and special training and professional development from National NAHRO and Rutgers.

Stay tuned for more information and registration in the New Year. Let’s make it a goal in the next year to support, attend and participate in the success of our MARC Annual Conference.

MARC has a long history of award winning events and programs that are recognized by National NAHRO. Applications are available to submit for Awards of Excellence. Please read details below in the newsletter. Let’s continue to show that the MARC region is an innovative leader for our clients.

It may be a busy time with the holidays and time off, but don’t forget to share any of the holiday activities you have at your facilities with the rest of the MARC family and submit articles and pictures for the January newsletter by the 10th to RSO Sylvia Bowen at sbowen@nahro.org.

Once again, please enjoy a happy and safe Holiday Season with friends and family!!

MARC NAHRO NEEDS YOU!
VOLUNTEER TO SERVE ON THE MARC NAHRO EXECUTIVE BOARD
BY JANUARY 10TH

Each year, five at-large members are elected by the MARC NAHRO membership to serve three-year terms on the region’s Executive Board, the policy-making body of the region. The Executive Board also plans for and is held accountable for activities of the Region.   Meetings are held annually via teleconference, at the NAHRO Washington Conference, the region’s annual conference, and the NAHRO National Conference in October.  Any “Active” member is eligible to serve on the Executive Board.

The election of Executive Board members is managed by the Nominations and Election Committee (N&E), which is appointed by the Regional President. The N&E will select nominees for the election ballot in accordance with the region’s  by-laws.

Members who are interested in serving on the Executive Board should contact N&E Chair Clif Martin at ccmartin@hcaac.org or any member of the N&E before January 10, 2020.

The N&E will advise the membership of nominees whose name will appear on the election ballot by January 15. Additional names will be placed on the election ballot upon the receipt of a valid petition by January 30, as prescribed in the region’s by-laws. The electronic voting will take place in mid-February.

Feel free to direct questions to any member of the N&E.
