Community Lunch n' Learn Workshops

We will be offering the Be SMART: Gun Safety Workshop three (3) times this Spring/Summer.

The first one will be held virtually on

March 4, 2022 from

Noon - 1:00 p.m.

This professional development opportunity is for the general public as well as our prevention council members. That same morning from 10-11:30am we will be having our Statewide Prevention Council Meeting for Prevention Council members only.

The Be SMART framework is designed to help parents and adults normalize conversations about gun safety and take responsible actions that can prevent child gun deaths and injuries. The Be SMART campaign was launched to raise awareness that secure gun storage--storing guns locked, unloaded, and separate from ammunition--can save children’s lives. Be SMART emphasizes that it’s an adult responsibility to keep kids from accessing guns, and that every adult can play a role in keeping kids and communities safer.

Plans are in the works to hold two (2) more Regional Council Retreats & the Be SMART Community Workshop in person later in the Spring/early Summer in Northern & Southern Indiana. Please check back at the PCAIN Events Page, if you are interested.

April 30th - Matt Breman Memorial Run4 Kids -- Join us downtown on the Indianapolis canal as we race to raise vital funds and awareness for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

All proceeds will go to Prevent Child Abuse Indiana, a Division of The Villages, and celebrate 45 years of their life-changing programs and educational resources throughout Indiana. Learn more and register!

We want to believe that the person we love and who shares our life is someone whom we can trust unconditionally. With regard to our children however, we need to go “above and beyond” when it comes to protecting them. We have some tips to which you can refer when trying to determine if your partner is safe to be around, and sometimes care for your child. You can also pay attention to your child’s cues in order to gage if there is a safety concern. There are some positive signs as well that may help you to gage how your partner is interacting with your child. While informative, the brochure is written in easy-to-understand language for a wider audience in English and Spanish.

We thank Kids First for continuing to support our charge in ensuring that our mission to "make Indiana a better, safer place for Indiana's most precious resources - our children" is achieved.
