Green Professional Building Skills Training - O+M Essentials
This three-day virtual course is ideal for property managers and building staff in multifamily residential and commercial buildings. Scholarships are available, we want to ensure all have access to achieve efficient operations and smart maintenance in buildings - reducing operating costs and increasing occupancy rates and tenant satisfaction. Please contact Emily Andrews at 314-577-0854 to inquire.

Why buildings?

Buildings are St. Louis’ largest source of greenhouse gas emissions, contributing close to 80%! Increasing building energy efficiency will not only make our air healthier and fight climate change but will position the City of St. Louis for growth as businesses worldwide are adapting to sustainable demands and 2030 goals.

The Building Energy Exchange STL (BE-Ex STL) will serve as a network of resources to help building owners make smart investments to reduce their carbon footprint and energy burden.

And as a member of the 33 inaugural jurisdictional participants of the National Building Performance Standards Coalition we can continue to catalyze Buildings As Climate Solutions with additional resources and collaboration with the leadership and network of BE-Ex STL.

Join the national and worldwide excitement,
right here in St. Louis

Wednesday, March 23 @ 5:30 pm at the Missouri History Museum as we launch this new regional resource, Building Energy Exchange STL!
Calling all St. Louisians: Ensure the voices of North St. Louis are heard!

Through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, St. Louis County has the opportunity to not only boost recovery efforts from the challenges of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with 193 million dollars, but advance racially equitable systems and policies that ensure all people in the St. Louis region can thrive.

“When it comes to these historic funds, it is critical that we make sure people and places that have been systematically ignored have a voice in what this investment looks like,”
said Cal Harris, County Executive chief of staff, to The St. Louis American in the 'County Executive Page Forms Community Outreach Team' article, February 18, 2022.
With 314 EVOLVE, Elevating Voices Of Leaders Vying for Equity, the U.S. Green Building Council-Missouri Gateway Chapter has been engaging in the 'Closed Mouths Don't Get Fed' campaign via weekly community meetings with North St. Louis government officials and its residents. Imperative to meeting the needs of North County is prioritizing communities completing the survey to voice how the remaining 93 million dollars should be spent.

Ensure North County residents complete this survey and their needs are expressed to government officials. Share the Community Needs Survey with your network, repost via social media, or get involved by contacting Kelly McGowan at kellyxevolve@gmail.com or EVOLVE @314Evolve.

The results of this Community Needs Survey will shape how St. Louis County spends its ARPA funding.
Earth Day is just around the corner! And, with earthday365 collaborating with community partners and stakeholders to present their inaugural year of awards at the St. Louis Earth Day Festival on April 23, 2022 at 1:00 pm CST it is sure to be memorable.

We’ll be stationed in the Youth Corner and engage festival goers with our green schools-themed prize wheel to test their green schools knowledge, share what practices their schools already have in place, and explore new ideas for no and low cost sustainability projects.

Volunteer shifts are 2 hours long, leaving plenty of time to explore the festival before or after your shift where you’ll find tons of interesting vendors, music, yummy food, and more. Please contact Hope Gribble to sign up or with any questions!
We are grateful for the technology that has kept us all connected during this time of social distancing and precaution, but it's time to get outside together, and appreciate the joy and experience of the healing power of nature.

We recognize that we are a predominately white organization – our staff, our leadership, and our membership. As an organization, we recognize that we have unintentionally contributed to the status quo of injustice and systems that are racist. We know that environmental degradation and climate change disproportionately affect communities of color. We are working to do our part to address and breakdown systemic and institutional racism while understanding our own implicit biases. Learn more about our Equity and Inclusion Initiatives.
