The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7–12, and Appel Farm hosts artists from Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Somerset, Hunterdon, Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean, and Salem Counties in New Jersey may participate in the South Jersey Art Region.

We would love to learn about your students, their artwork, and how art has allowed them to connect with others, an artist, an art history movement, or even with themselves. Music In Our Schools Month® (MIOSM®) takes a new tack this year, focusing on lessons for fourth-graders that help them learn elements of music through some classic children’s songs. The lessons and songs, however, can be shared at many levels. All are available without charge to teachers for their use during MIOSM and beyond.
