IN PERSON SAT MOCK TEST @ MARSHALL

Our Most Sought-After SAT In-Person Mock Test

Perfect for Juniors and motivated Sophomores, this Digital SAT Mock Test on February 21, 2026 offers a true test-day experience in a simulated SAT environment at George C. Marshall High School. Students take an authentic, adaptive SAT-style exam (for practice only—scores are not reported), followed by a free results consultation with a Test Prep Advisor and a personalized prep plan. Participants also receive 1,400 SAT practice questions for continued study. Flexible scheduling is available, and extended-time accommodations are offered for approved students (email karen@novastarprep.com for details).

Bottom line: real practice, real insights, real confidence—before test day actually counts.

Congratulations, Marshall Winterguard Team!

The Marshall Winterguard team won first place in its division at the AIA Gainesville competition, held at Gainesville High School on Saturday. The team won first place in class and a full sweep of the captions. Additionally, Marshall's Wingterguard team had the highest equipment caption score out of all the classes. This was the Guard's first public performance of its 2026 show "Human Nature." Congratulations to the team and the coaches, and thanks to all the supporters who came out to cheer them on!

AI LINK & SLIDE DECK FROM MEETING

Missed our AI Meeting: We got you covered.

The full Zoom recording is now available to watch on your own time, along with the slide deck from our presenter, Maria Laws from AI for Education. The session dives into how teens are really using AI, what parents should know, and practical ways to support responsible AI use at home and at school.

If you couldn’t join us live—or want to revisit the conversation—this is absolutely worth your time.

Next month, Rachel Baxter, Marshall's Technology Specialist, will be joining us to discuss how Marshall High School and FCPS are using AI.

Jess Terry – School Counselor

What is your position at Marshall, and what do you enjoy most about it? School Counselor - My favorite part is getting to know students over the 4-year span. Our students have such diverse backgrounds and personalities, and I learn so much from them!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? The Galápagos Islands

What advice would you give to students about making the most of high school? There will be times in high school when you feel uncomfortable. Maybe a class is harder than you expected, a trusted friend is unexpectedly moving away, or you don't make a team. These times are hard. Allow yourself to move through these uncomfortable times and know that this is also when you will experience self-growth.

What's one thing you hope students take away from your class or role? I hope students can see the role of the counselor as an open-door policy. I might not always have the answers, but I can help connect students and families with resources and supports if you aren't sure where to turn or ask a question - start with your counselor!

What's one thing parents can doat home to support their student's success? One strategy that can be effective for some families is having an 'academic check in' once a week. This could be used to plan for the week coming up, review current grades in SIS, and discuss any academic concerns or accomplishments. Having something scheduled as a family at home, takes pressure off having one-off conversations during when schedules are busy and stressed. My daughter is 8, and we have dessert & discussions on Sunday nights.
