Have you heard? Red Hook WaterStories coming soon!
PortSide will reveal forgotten history with our exciting public history project called Red Hook WaterStories ( RHWS ) .    We're bringing history to the street via QR codes around Red Hook that a mobile can read - or you can read RHWS from a computer at home.   We're making a hardcopy visitor guide too.

PortSide has launched an on-line campaign to raise $20,000 in matching funds by end of June.  Please  donate to RHWS now!

Support our progress.  We have added more content advisors.  We've commissioned historical essays.  Our research team is busy uploading content to archiving software that will deliver a dynamic multimedia map and create the first maritime trail in NYC.

RHWS is supported in part by funding from Councilman Carlos Menchaca and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

Visit the 1st Fleet Week at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal!
Three Fleet Week ships will be open to the public for free tours Thursday through Monday, 8am to 5pm over Memorial Day weekend.

Ship visitors must go through security screening similar to boarding a plane, so don't bring your pocket knife, bottles or cans. Get full details here.
