Overcoming Virtual Learning Challenges
When we needed hotspots for our families, who answered the call?
City Forward Collective and Northwestern Mutual Foundation have stepped up big time! Many area schools benefit from these community partners and we are grateful for their support. If everyone works together, we will get through this!
Can we brag a bit? Our MAS High School National Honor Society members held an American Red Cross sponsored blood drive and a "help the homeless" event. They received five boxes of donations with clothing, winter gear, hygiene products, books, school supplies, masks and more. Through their bake sale, they made an additional $270! And on top of that, there were 36 pints of blood donated. We are so proud MAS Students' leadership make the world a hopeful & kind place.
Our MAS teachers are truly more than just teachers. Why? Because they go above and beyond, with their passion to love and care for the youth. Although that does not always mean awards, it has for three MAS teachers honored with the Wisconsin Association of Youth Care Professionals (WACYCP) Youth Worker of the Year Award.
Two years ago, HS Physical Educator Kurt Hansen won the award. This year, Omar Choudhury, our SPED K4-4th Grade teacher won for serving youth ages 6-12, and the late Kaylin Jones, our former Transportation Coordinator & HS Student Culture Coordinator received this award.
