MASBHC Is Hiring! 

MASBHC is seeking a part-time Health Educator to join the school-based wellness center team at Bladensburg High School (Bladensburg, MD) to work on their Hallways to Health Initiative. Bladensburg High School is one of three Maryland high schools participating in Hallways to Health. The Hallways to Health (H2H) initiative works to expand the role that school-based health centers play in advancing obesity prevention, social and emotional health, and school employee wellness. The Health Educator at Bladensburg will assist with school-wide health education and promotion activities as part of the H2H initiative and will serve as Bladensburg's liaison for state and national H2H reporting and activities. FREE Teacher Wellness Symposium: August 11th and 12th 

Action for Healthy Kids is hosting a FREE Teacher Wellness Symposium on August 11th and 12th, 2014. This two-day to be held in Washington, DC will consist of sessions to assist all teachers in incorporating health and wellness into their classrooms, serving as health and wellness role models for their students, and addressing their own health and wellness needs. The Symposium is open to teachers in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. Lunch and snacks will be provided both days. 
Mid-Atlantic Center for Children's Health and the Environment 12th Annual Conference: September 19th 

The Mid-Atlantic Center for Children's Health and the Environment will hold its 12th annual conference on September 19th, 2014. This year's conference will focus on healthy buildings, with an emphasis on school and medical office buildings. Participants will receive an overview of elements of a healthy building and will choose between two breakout tracks: Greening the Medical Office and Creating a Healthy School Building. Click here for conference agenda and registration information.
